How to Setup an Email Address on Outlook?

In this article, we are going to discuss how to setup an email address on Outlook. We will explain the complete process step by step for your better understanding. We are using the latest version that is Outlook 2018.

Setup Email Address on Outlook

  1. Open Outlook 2018 and select Tools. Then click Account.

2. Select the + icon in the lower-left corner.

3. Enter your username. Then click Continue/Connect.

4. You can wait for Outlook to identify your provider type. Or you can click Choose the Provider.

5. Ensure your provider type is IMAP/POP.

6. Enter your details to the email form. Then click Add Account.

How to add email account on Outlook

  • Type: IMAP or POP (we recommend IMAP).
  • Email Address: Your full user@example.com email address.
  • Username: Your full user@example.com email address.
  • Password: Your password.
  • Incoming Server: We recommend using mail.example.com (replacing example.com with your domain name).
  • Using SSL and the appropriate SSL Port is recommended (as shown in the figure above).
  • Outgoing Server: This will also be mail.example.com (replacing example.com with your domain name).

  1. You may get a notification requesting you to trust your certificate. This is common if your domain is using a self-signed certificate. Simply select Always trust “certificate name” when connecting to “mail.example.com”. Then click
